Question. What does your business do?

Tribe + Glory empowers and activates female entrepreneurs to achieve self-sustainability through relationship, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurship. Our entrepreneurship training model empowers women to live above the poverty line and create for themselves a sustainable income. At the heart, our main mission is to equip women with the necessary skills to achieve their dreams, and become agents of transformation in their communities.

Question. How does mission intersect with business?

Our mission intersects with business in different ways. First, although we are a non-profit with a central mission, we believe in running T+G with top notch business principles. Second, we ultimately view T+G as a stepping stool for women in the program to use as a means to start their own business and transform the lives of their families. We believe in the power of entrepreneurs and locally run businesses to pull communities out of poverty and strive to empower female entrepreneurs around the world to chase their business dreams.

Tribe + Glory is a total outworking of us looking to seek the kingdom first in everything we do. We know the Father has such a heart for the poor and the broken and we believe Tribe + Glory is a means of carrying the Hope of the gospel for both this life and eternity to communities. It is a constant prayer that we would be building and encouraging a radical and community changing kingdom culture in our work ethic and business model. Every working day is underpinned with prayer and we keep in central in all our work to commit each day to God.

Question. What one piece of advice do you have for others interested in a social enterprise?

We love to hold on to the desire to have a united drive towards excellence in every area of our business and impact. Just because we are a non-profit doesn’t mean we should lower our standards of how our business can stand in its own right! We are always looking for new ways of making our business more innovative and efficient so that we can maximise the impact we have through our programs on ground! We believe in pursuing excellence in areas ranging from product design to budgeting to management.

Question. What partnership opportunities or resources are you looking for?

We are always looking to build links both on ground with community based organizations looking to increase their women’s empowerment capacities in Uganda, as well as US links to marketing and sales resources. Tribe + Glory is a team of dream chasers and we absolutely love meeting and collaborating with other big dreamers who share our desires to create community transforming, sustainable change. We’d love to hear from you!

How Can I Support or Be Involved?

Glad you asked! Join Tribe + Glory at its Dinin', Dancin' and Supportin' Event on August 3rd!  Where social entrepreneurs in Houston and abroad will be celebrated. The festivities will include a silent auction, amazing food and live performances.
